The small intestine plays a crucial role in the digestive system: it is responsible for absorbing nutrients. These nutrients are then carried to your cells through your blood, where your liver transforms them into energy. When the intestinal lining is damaged, the nutrients cannot be absorbed, and the liver does not get the energy it needs to detoxify, renew, rebuild and restore.
