Where we stayed:
Santa Fe KOA in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Duration: 3 nights
What we did:
Meow Wolf-super cool and interesting art installation. A house/maze/art installation/mystery. Hard to explain and really you shouldn’t know everything. Just GO here! The boys loved it!
Lavendar Festival at El Rancho de las Golondrinas -We got a chance to attend a lavender festival at a 100 year old working ranch. The boys got to make lavender sachets and got to learn all about how they did things in the past. From yarn making, bread making, woodwork, tin stamping, blacksmith work and learning the history and lays of the land. This was a real treat.
Downtown Santa Fe-Great place to walk around, see art, jewelry, cute shops and yummy restaurants. The highlight for the boys was a super cute local toy shop called Moon Rabbit Toys. We bought the game Dweebies there after they worker sat down with us and showed us how to play. It has been a hit ever since. Helpful for those times we are at a restaurant and waiting for our food.
Santa Fe Railyard-There was a concert going on when we went to the railyard, so we totally felt like locals jamming with the band. If you want to go to a brewery or local farmers market they also have that here.
Santa Fe is a beautiful city. We will remember this city for all the art, Pueblo style architecture, Native American jewelry + paintings and all the south Western flair. They had a lot of yummy food options and even had a huge Whole foods where we bought our food for our time there. I definitely recommend a trip here. Especially if you love art and history. We can’t wait to come back and explore other parts of New Mexico.
