Quick Tip-Goldfish Crackers contain GMO’s

goldfish

Did you know Goldfish Crackers contain GMO’s? Not only that but MSG as well!? One of the most popular snacks to feed our children and it isn’t as “natural” as the labels claim. In fact Gold Fish was recently sent to court to be sued for misleading labeling and false advertising. You can check out that story here. There is also a great story on Food Babe as well. How Pepperidge Farm Duped My Family.

Want to replace goldfish with something similar? Something just as quick to pick up from the market, but is non gmo? Try Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies. They are organic, non gmo, made with real cheese and naturally colored.

Even better yet why not try making your own? Here are some recipes:

I would think eliminating any type of snack like that would be best. Even if it is organic and non gmo. Have a small plate of sliced apples and carrots instead. :O)

Real Fresh Food is always the best isn’t it! I love fresh fruit and veggies also. Thanks for the input!

Thank you very much for this information! I linked this article (I hope you don’t mind) on my blog post about picky eaters (http://feelingtheglow.com/2014/05/12/how-parents-can-get-picky-eaters-to-eat-healthy-foods/), because my 3-year old loves Goldfish crackers… much to my disapproval. I’m a single mother so it’s not easy for me to fully control what my kids are eating because they spend time with their father as well. I have replaced many of their “mother-disapproved” snack items with healthier options while they are with me. It’s so important that parents realize that many health claims on packaging should actually be seen as red flags. Also, GMOs are everywhere… read the labels and know what to look for.

Your site is awesome, by the way :)
